North Lanarkshire Council

North Lanarkshire Council is one of Scotland's 32 local authorities, serving over 340,000 residents in areas such as Motherwell, Wishaw, and Cumbernauld. It is the second largest council in Scotland by the number of councillors, with 77 members, and operates under a Labour minority administration.

The council's mission is to enhance the quality of life for its community through a variety of public services. These include education, social care, housing management, environmental services, economic development, leisure and culture, and urban planning. North Lanarkshire Council manages over 36,000 homes, making it Scotland's largest local authority landlord. The council operates from the Motherwell Civic Centre, which serves as its administrative headquarters.

Guided by "The Plan for North Lanarkshire," the council focuses on improving economic opportunities, supporting youth development, enhancing community health and wellbeing, and promoting community participation. It collaborates with local agencies and stakeholders to address challenges and foster inclusive growth in the region.
